There have been some problems with the detection of sound card with many systems in FC 3&4,but it is some what made better with FC5..yet some of the systems still have the problem with configuring sound-card. Here is a brief How-to on getting this solved..in any system with any distro:

If you donno which card is yours check like this :

user@localhost#lspci | grep Network       #this outputs your card type

In windows,you can check it by going to

control panel > Performance and Maintenence > system > Hardware > device manager

there it will be,check it out..

Till FC4, yum, as a default setting, referred to the local repo, i.e. the rpms on your disk. But, there is a little change in this as now, it tries to access the repos over internet as it is default.
