అది నాకు రాసింది కాదనుకోండి. కాని నాకు ఇదివరలో బాగా నచ్చిన రాతల్లో అదొకటి. చాలా సహజంగా రాశారామె. ఇంటర్మీడియట్ రెండో సంవత్సరంలో, ఒకానొక ఈనాడు ఆదివారం సంచికలో వచ్చిందది.

1930 కాలంలో చలం నవలలు సృష్టించిన ప్రకంపనలకి, తెలుగు నేల కంపించి, పాతాళాన నాటుకున్న పురుషాధిక్య సమాజపు పునాదులు అట్టే గజగజ వణికాయి. ఆయన ప్రతిపాదించిన వివాదాస్పద స్వేచ్చ ఎంతో కలకలం రేపింది. నవలలకేనా..? అని అలా నోరెళ్ళబెట్టమాకండి. అది తెలుగు సాహిత్యానికి బంగారు యుగం. అందరూ సాహిత్యంలో వచ్చే మార్పులు ఎప్పటికప్పుడు గుర్తించే కాలం.

Memories at IIIT-H

These are my memories of three+ years of stay at IIIT-H, in which I could see connections to me and my activities, rest of my life. When Pranav Vasista approached a few of us asking to pen down our most memorable things at IIIT-H, we asked "what kind?". He said, "Whatever it is, be it games, acads, relationships.. what not! anything you like!". He said, "Let's plan and organize it and keep the collection, say in our library." It'll let us know few people with whom we barely had any conversation. And over years, with same practice from every batch, it will really be thrilling if someday, some distant junior, who just skimmed through your 'memories', pings you with a 'Hi!'. right? So, all the fourth years, I request you to take off few minutes(before you leave) to recollect and pen down best experiences in your stay at IIIT-H. If you could send me a copy, I'll append it to the collection. Well, if our seniors could also join us, it's our pleasure :) So, let me start with my experiences ...

ఇది సినిమాల గురించి కాదు, సినీ యాక్టర్ల గురించి అంతకంటే కాదు. ఇదొక యధార్థ గాద. మీరు మహారాజు సినిమా చూసుంటే, ఆ సినిమా చూసి నాకంత భావావేశం కలగలేదు. కథే కదా అనుకున్నా. కాని అంతకంటే దుర్భర జీవితాన్ని ఒక మహనీయుడు గడిపాడన్న విషయం నన్ను చాలా భాదించింది. ఇది ఈనాడు పత్రికలో, పోయిన నెలలో, మన గడ్డం-ముక్కు పంతులు గారు రాసిన ఆ మహనీయుని కధ (పురుష్ కి కృతజ్ఞతలు!). తెలుగువాళ్ళందరూ ఓపికగా చదవాలని నా ఆశ. చదవమని నా మనవి. చదివి కనీసం మనకున్న కక్కృత్తిలో కొంచెమైనా వదిలి, తెలుగు భాషకి ఐరాస వాళ్ళు చెప్పినట్టుగా పొంచివున్న అంతరింపు ముప్పుని తొలగించడానికి కనీసం మన ఇంట్లోనన్నా ప్రయత్నిద్దాం. తెలుగు భాషకు ప్రాచీన హోదా కల్పించండం ఒకింత సాయం చేసినా పరిశోధనశాలలలో వస్తువుగా మన భాష మిగిలిపోకుండా చూడటం మాత్రం మనందరి భాద్యతేనన్న విషయం అందరూ గుర్తించాలి! మీ పిల్లలకి తెలుగు నేర్పించటం, వారిని ఈ భాషలో వున్న సాహిత్యాన్ని చదివేలా ప్రోత్సహించటం లాంటివి చేస్తే మీ భాద్యత మీరు నిర్వర్తించినట్టే.

Jugalbandi!

It all began when I came to know about the series of Classical Music concerts and Dance performances, called 'Festival of Bala Murali', at Chowmahalla palace, a beautiful place!

Third day(yeah, I missed first two) there were two cultural events, a concert by Devan-Drone and a Kuchipudi dance performance by Mrs.Shallu Zindal. The concert went well except for few minor mistakes. I liked 'nothing but peace', 'english note', 'jagadodharana' and the conclusion concept of 'colors' where they played various pieces of classical bits, one after the other with smooth transition. The dance performance was good.

Fourth day rocked!! There was a natyalaya run by Dr.Bala Murali in chennai, called Vipanchi. Four from that group performed four forms of dance, Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Odyssey and Kathak. And the final piece was Jugalbandi!! It's a mix of the four forms performed by all four on stage! About the performances, 'awesome' and 'astounding' can at best be modest in talking of those enthralling performances. Following are few details about the performers...
